New Season, New Moorings

After months of winter works, we are thrilled that the light is not only at the end of the tunnel – but shining on us!

New moorings:

The mild winter that we’ve all been blessed with has allowed us to complete the new moorings in the meadow in for the 2015 boating season. These new pontoons, hardwood decked and all with electric and water facilities, are looking fantastic in the Spring sunshine today, and we’re looking forward to getting all the boats on there in the coming couple of weeks.

We must say a big thank you to the wonderful team from River and Canal Services who have completed the development efficiently and professionally. The new pontoons have created a further 16 moorings in the marina, all of which have now been allocated for the season.

Maintenance:

Ground works are also complete on the west bank opposite the meadow. Willow Marina mooringsIn previous years flooding had caused significant damage to this area resulting in deterioration of the bank.

Investment to extensively reinforce the bank has now restored the area ensuring the moorings are not only going to be looking great, but they also make mooring much simpler and safer.

We’re working hard to ensure the marina looks as fabulous as it can, but as extensive groundworks have taken place please be patient with us as the “messy” phase passes and the new turf and foliage takes root.

Relaunch

Now that we have new and useable moorings, the relaunch of the 180 boats we’ve had over the winter has started in earnest.

We’ve already seen many of our mooring holders getting their boats ready, and some have already been out on the water taking advantage of the glorious weather we’ve had.

We’re loving seeing so much activity back in the marina – and we can’t wait to get back on the water ourselves in our Interboat 25.
