A rare opportunity to purchase one of the original Regatta Umpires launches Built 1902 by Samuel Saunders @ Goring, Built upside by women in Consuta Construction. It has 3 layers of diagonal mahogany strips with calico in between and it was then copper stitched together by the ladies. It is called Consuta since the first boat built in this manner was the famous Consuta steam launch which is still running to this day. This is a very rare construction and we believe that there are only 8 boats now left built of this construction. It is very strong and long wearing. The propeller sits in a small tunnel and is accessed from a weed hatch through the rear deck. The original rudder was mounted on the stern but we had a new rudder cast and fitted nearer to the propeller to give better manoeuvrability.
