The Marco Brand was launched in the 1970’s by Marcoplast bv in Holland. The range of craft offered a fibreglass cabin cruiser as an alternative to the Sloopen open craft and offering basic accommodation for overnight stays. The hull form of the larger models was designed for either use on the Inland Dutch canals or the open waters of the Ijsselmeer and In Germany on the Rhine. The craft are powered by shaft drive diesel and capable of speeds to 20 knots depending on the propulsion unit fitted. In the 1980’s the rights to the range was purchased by Succes Yachts and the construction carried out under licence by Flevo Mouldings of Emmeloord.
More recently the Marco brand has now been acquired by Jachtbouw 2000 who are concentrating on an upgrade to the mouldings and this spacious range of family river craft continue in to the 21st century offering wide side decks, traditional timber interiors and 6’+ headroom through the cabins. Jachtbouw 2000 continue to develop the Marco range with a new 860 due in 2009.
