The history of Val Wyatt Marine is a fascinating account of how people have continually enjoyed boating on the Thames. Established in 1845 at the St.George and Dragon Boat-house in Wargrave, the company originally built punts and skiffs. However, it was to develop at the same pace as the changing marketplace for leisure craft, eventually moving to its current home at Willow Marina in the early 1900. In 1977 the company was purchased from the Wyatt family by Mr. A Baylis who remains the present Managing Director. Its facilities have over the last 30 years been fully modernised to include a slipway and serviced moorings, catering for craft of up to 45 feet. This program of development continues today.

Val Wyatt Marine's name has always been linked to the marketing of established boat builders. In the 1950's the first trials of Freeman Motor Cruisers were here and in the early 1960's we became a Freeman agent. Despite much success the Freeman range was eventually phased out and replaced with the agency for CJ Broom, a relationship that continued until the mid 1990's.
Between 1995 and 2004 our sales office introduced Into the private boat market the partnership of Haines Marine, and the expansion of the Sheerline range from sliding canopy boats to a full inland and offshore range. This all lead to our appointment in March 2004 as launching in the UK and Ireland the Succes Yachts ranges of steel & fibreglass cruisers.
In 2007, following a takeover of this business by Jachtbouw 2000, builders of the Aqua Motoryachts range which we now jointly market alongside that of their Succes brand and Marco Fibreglass cruisers built for Jachtbouw 2000 under licence by Flevo Mouldings.
Val Wyatt's are now agents for Jetten Yachting who can offer bespoke steel cruisers from 30ft to 50ft and above, Bommelaer which are a Class A steel yacht designed for long term living and cruising. Interboat which offer traditional fibreglass Dutch sloopes and the faster Intender sloope. Alongside this Interboat move to the Intercruiser range from 27ft through to 35ft in aft cockpit and aft cabin.
As one of the best recognised marinas on the Thames, Val Wyatt Marine offers moorings for 120 vessels, mostly fully serviced with electricity and water and we also offer winter hard standing both in the open and under cover for 200 craft.
As a 'one stop marine centre' we cater for all boating requirements including insurance, finance, chandlery, engineering, boat yard repairs and all other aspects.
